ABOUT THE NAME

Hi, I'm Meg

This is a photo of Meg in the office she uses for online counselling. Meg is sitting in front of a timber cabinet and is surrounded by plants.

Life’s journey is often uneven & unpredictable, with unexpected twists & turns. But it is these crooked paths that shape us, offering opportunities for growth, resilience, and profound personal insight.

My path to become a counsellor was an unexpected twist, originating from my own journey with chronic health issues, disability & common mental health challenges

that many of us face at some point in our lives.
The therapist that I got help from was the one to suggest I consider counselling as a career, opening my eyes to a new path that I had never considered before.

This guidance not only helped me find my calling but also showed me the transformative power of having

someone who truly listens to understand.

I now incorporate some of the insights that lived experience has given me into counselling the issues I specialise in, which you can read more about here.

      'There was a crooked man

And he walked a crooked mile.

He found a crooked sixpence

Against a crooked stile

He bought a crooked cat

Which caught a crooked mouse

And they all lived together

In a little crooked house'

I learned that Mother Goose rhyme when I was a child

and it has always stayed in my memory.

Navigating my own journey meant I've often felt like that crooked man, and have had to walk some unexpected crooked miles in my life.

So it felt right for the business name to be

Crooked Mile Counselling, as a reminder that

even the most winding paths can lead to a place of strength and wisdom.

Wherever your journey takes you, I'm here to support you,

whenever your path

gets a little crooked too.
