ABOUT ME

ABOUT THE NAME
Hi, I'm Meg

Life’s journey is rarely a straight road. Its uneven and unpredictable paths often wind in surprising directions, shaping us in ways we never anticipated. But these detours and challenges offer opportunities for growth, resilience, and profound personal insight.
My path to become a counsellor was an unexpected twist, originating from my own journey with
chronic health issues, disability & some
common mental health challenges that
many of us face at some point in our lives.
It was my own therapist who suggested
I consider counselling as a career, opening my eyes to
a new path I'd never considered before.
This guidance not only helped me find my calling,
but also showed me the transformative power of
having someone who listens to truly understand.
I now incorporate some of the insights my
lived experience has given me into my counselling practice, particularly in the issues I specialise in,

I learned that cute Mother Goose rhyme when I was a child and it has always stayed with me.
Navigating my own journey, I’ve often felt like the crooked man in the poem, travelling some
unexpected twists and turns along the way.
So it just felt right for my business name to be
Crooked Mile Counselling, as a reminder that
even the most winding paths can
lead to a place of strength and wisdom.
Perhaps you are facing some
unexpected detours in your life, and are seeking support to find your way through them with
clarity, strength, and hope.
Wherever your journey takes you,
I'm here to support you,
whenever your path
goes a little crooked too.
